Sum
Difference Preparation: Remove all the face cards from each deck of cards. Teaching Suggestions: Three players per group.
Have two players face each other.
The third player (Dealer) faces the pair.
Dealer gives each player a card face down.
Players do not look at the card.
When the dealer says, "SALUTE" each player lifts card to forehead without looking at it and places it on forehead facing outward so only the dealer and the other player can see the card.
Dealer quickly adds the two numbers and announces the sum.
The other two players try to guess what number is on thier card by looking at the other person's card and knowing what the sum is.
The first person to guess correctly gets to keep both cards.
The player with the most cards wins and becomes the new dealer. Discussion Questions: After the game you can ask students to identify when the game was easiest for them and when it was hardest. Which numbers were easy to figure out? Why? Which ones were harder? Why? What helped you figure out a hard one? <-Back
